Even before Delia commits suicide, June misses her best friend. After their falling out, she always thought they had plenty of time to reconcile but now Delia's life has been cut tragically short. June barely has time to mourn before Delia's ex-boyfriend convinces her Delia was murdered, and June is quickly swept into a tangle of lies and deceit--and a conspiracy she never could have anticipated. Stylish, sexy, and atmospheric, Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls has so many twists and turns it will leave you breathless.
"Twisted and intense in all the right ways, Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls will keep you guessing (and your pulse racing) until its stark, shocking conclusion. A breathless, action-packed, powerhouse meditation on the meaning (and trappings) of friendship, feminism, and freedom."
—Micol Ostow, author of Amity
“Simultaneously a pulse-pounding, breathtakingly twisty thriller and a complex, unflinching, heart-breaking examination of female friendship, Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls is a story of love, damage, and an all-consuming relationship with the power to save or destroy--and it's unforgettable."—Robin Wasserman, author of The Waking Dark
“The Gone Girl-inspired trend for dark and twisty bad girl thrillers is now emerging strongly in YA, and this is poised to be one of the most commercial. June’s former best friend, Delia, is dead. Did she kill herself, or is the truth even darker? Conspiracies, lies, unreliable narrators and a dark study of just how intense and deeply intoxicating teenage female friendships can be.” —The Bookseller
“Weingarten keeps the tension taut; every time June resolves to answer a question, it raises two more. The novel is quietly suspenseful; readers will be draw to the well-written and well-rounded characters—even the supporting players. Thoughtful and provocative, this will be a hard book for teen readers to put down until the thrilling, twisted end. VERDICT Ideal for teens craving a good mystery/thriller.” —School Library Journal
“[R]eaders looking for gritty, heady intrigue and suspense will find plenty to sink their teeth into here.” —Booklist
“A YA thriller of real distinction, Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls is an utterly absorbing, completely unguessable mystery. June and Delia's intense friendship was everything to June. But then something went wrong. For a year they did not speak. And then an announcement is made at their school that Delia is dead. But how did she die? Was it suicide, or was it, as her ex-boyfriend claims, murder?” —NetGalley
